In creating this system we hoped to solve a couple problems that we would run into. Maybe you've had some of these same problems.
How we fix it:
Well, having worked in web developement for years I had always wanted to make a system that would be able to run everything online for me. I had used other systems that did similar things, but they would end up costing or not giving me exactly what I needed. If I built it then I could get what I needed. The most immediate bonus of this was to have no more papers to carry around. This resulted also in us being able to reuse character, NPC, items and everything we used. Our campaigns became a lot more thorough and the story more broad.
How we fix it:
This system is built to allow you to do anything you can on a paper, but along with that some tools that should quicken that process. We built an NPC generator that will create NPCs with skills, characteristics, and more. This system is very easy to use. They will also be given pokemon with types and generations of your choice!
How we fix it:
This was so important to implement. Now you can generate a store with a rarity of your choosing. The system will then generate items based on the rarity and make prices for each that you can then tell the players. Players can easily give themselves items or you can give it to them for them.
We will use this for dungeons too! If they find some cool loot, choose the rarity it is and generate the items that they find!
How we fix it:
I hated being a talker in a fight or being a fighter in a political setting. We wanted to allow you to be both. That might make it sound like you are never bad, but you'd be surprised (and it is still fun to be bad sometimes). This just means you always have something you can try and do.
The easiest way to explain this is now you as a player have your skills, abilities and characteristics like any other RPG. They allow you to persuade people, steal or see if you can lift a heavy object.
Unlike other games though, we introduce a party system. What this does is allow you to collect units to your player that will fight for you. In our main game these units are pokemon! These units you catch receive their own experience, have their own stats and can learn moves and talents. You can even equip special items to them. This way you can be a good talker, but have a great roster of pokemon that fight for you!
How we fix it:
When creating this site I had the idea to make it a pokemon RPG. The big deal for me is that keeping track of your trainer ALONG with your pokemon sounded like so many papers (which refers now back to So many papers! section). So with this site we do all of the heavy lifting of keeping track of all of the experience, stats and even what dice to roll and present it you for a clean and easy experience.
Do you not know Pokemon? That's ok! We have references and a built in pokedex to make this easy for you to learn!
